How can any business or organisation know where it’s going, what actions to take and how to adapt if they don’t have a plan? For us, plans are the backbone of our business and every project because they keep us and our clients focused on the end goal.
And so, we’re glad to see that the Government have published the draft version of the National Planning Framework document. This 20-year plan puts in place a new national and regional development strategy. It’s linked to a new 10-year National Investment Plan. It incorporates more environmentally focussed planning and makes state lands available for strategic purposes. The Framework seeks to ensure that through good planning, “Ireland will continue on a path of economic, environmental and social progress that will improve our prosperity, sustainability and well-being”.
All good news … and here’s the better news. It’s not done yet. There’s a public consultation phase underway at present and you can have your say. So now’s the time to visit www.npf.ie. Read the draft plan, give it some thought and if you have a contribution to make them click here to share your views. But the closing date is Friday 3rd November (at noon) so time is running out.
For the longest time, we’ve lamented the absence of strong, cohesive, strategic plans for Ireland. This legally binding plan will shape Ireland’s future. Don’t miss out on your chance to plan for Ireland’s future … after all, planning is the key to success!
