The weekend of June 23rd saw the Whitelight team back at Flavours of Fingal which takes place in the stunning grounds of Newbridge House. We are always delighted to work with the events department at Fingal County Council on this fabulous event which attracted almost 100,000 over the weekend.
It is a superb event with lots of family entertainment including 6 paddocks of Kids play zone, 3 equestrian rings with show jumping, hunter trials and much more. The Farmer’s Field showcases the best that the agricultural community in Fingal has to offer. The walled garden was packed with families enjoying delicious food while listening to great entertainment on the main stage.
The Big Red Barn hosted cookery demonstrations, using the very best Fingal produce, all weekend and it proved to be a big hit with the visitors.
The Cavalry of Heroes was a spectacular display of horsemanship and jousting, families enjoyed visiting the Viking village and the International Axe Men competition was something to behold.
We even got to meet Fingal’s oldest farmer, Charlie Rooney, who recently turned 100 years old. You’ll see him in the centre of the photo below, pictured with Paul Reid, Chief Executive of Fingal County Council.
In addition to looking after corporate sponsorship and partnerships for Fingal County Council at this mega event, we were also delighted to welcome the crew from RTE Nationwide to film at the event. Presenter Anne Cassin, Producer Mary Fanning and Cameraman Brian Walsh spent a full day at Flavours of Fingal, soaking up all the sights and sounds. Earlier, Valerie Waters and Mary Fanning had visited local farmers across the region to get an insight into the importance of food production in the region.
No words can really capture how epic an event Flavours of Fingal really is. All praise, however, goes to Paul Barnes, Neil Kennedy, Deirdre Sinclair and Aidan Mooney of the Fingal County Council Events team who put together a superb event and it would take a lot more pages to describe all the activities over the weekend.
