As part of Local Enterprise Week 2017, we staged “What Brexit Means For Business” with a top panel of contributors on the subject matter. Hosted by Ian Guider of The Sunday Business Post, the panel included CEO of Enterprise Ireland Julie Sinnamon, Director General of British Irish Chamber John McGrane, Patricia Callan of the SFA, Simon McAllister of EY and Economist Dr. Edgar Morgenroth. The voice of the business community was clearly articulated by Anne Reilly of Paycheck Plus and Stephen Malone of Malone Group.
The breakfast event was opened by Chief Executive of Fingal Paul Reid before the lively debate ensued. There were plenty of differing opinions and experiences about the meaning of Brexit for Business from the panel. The discussion opened to the floor where the experiences of businesses large and small came to the fore. Business is certainly feeling the impacts of Brexit and scenario planning for the future is critical.
However one thing was clear from the discussion … Brexit will be what we make of it. It’s up to Irish companies and entrepreneurs to see the potential in Brexit, to create and seize opportunities and to use Brexit to drive growth in indigenous Irish companies.
This event took part at The Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport as part of Local Enterprise Week hosted by the Local Enterprise Office Fingal. For more great events and training see: www.LocalEnterprise.ie/Fingal
